WorldCat and/or DOI, or link to physical place where the item was found (If it has a DOI, it should be available online and this link would go in the URL field.)
- WorldCat- even if the item can be found in the AU Library please link to WorldCat as this means that researchers can check for the item and it’s availability at the researcher’s closest library location.
- DOI-The Digital Object Identifier (DOI®) System is for identifying content objects in the digital environment. DOI® names are assigned to any entity for use on digital networks. They are used to provide current information, including where they (or information about them) can be found on the Internet. Information about a digital object may change over time, including where to find it, but its DOI name will not change.

- Usually only journals (primarily scholarly/research), and some online books—are assigned a DOI. Magazines, newspapers, newsletters, and most online documents/reports do not have a DOI

- If there is no URI/URL or WorldCat or DOI please try to link to the physical place where the document can be found. The user can then go to this site which will have contact information on how to view/order/retrieve the item.
