TOO SMALL TO MATTER? EXTINCT COMMUNITIES
Tried to include all the old place names. Hopefully I have all the CNR stations. Will try and label whether Canadian Northern Alberta Railway (CNAR, formerly the Alberta Great Waterways Railway) or Grand Trunk Pacific Railway (GTPR) which consolidated about 1917 to become CNR. Also a CNWRL that went to Whitecourt. Some of these railway stations only operated for a few years. I cannot find that these are very useful terms. A search using Linaria Alberta on GS does locate an excellent aspen/soil article. Some of these are duplicate terms e.g. Chip Lake (which actually is a great search term). Holmes Crossing is an Ecological Reserve. Some are still used by locals e.g. Connor Creek, Amber Valley so will have to be searched. Some like Mildred Lake, Judy Creek, Luscar and Mitsue are very important terms because of the industry located there (oil sands, gas, coal and saw mill).
